Couple Kissing Over The Corpse Of Lion They Just Shot And Killed Has People Outraged

The public has been outraged after a couple from Canada shared a photo of them kissing behind the corpse of a majestic lion they poached during a hunt.

The married couple, Darren and Carolyn Carter, decided this murder should be celebrated with a kiss and a photo.

The south African company that provides trophy hunting trips, Legelela Safaris, shared the photo on the social media Facebook and wrote ‘hard work in the Kalahari sun…well done. A monster lion.’

Photo Goes Viral: People Are Saying It’s Extremely Cruel

The media immediately criticized the photo saying animal cruelty and poaching these amazing species has to end. It led to calls for ban on trophy hunting.

Also, many have described the couple that also owns a taxidermy business as ‘vile’ and ‘disgusting’ for posing next to the animal they just murdered.

Mr. Carter was asked for comment for his decision to pose with the dead lion to which he responded they’re not interested in giving any comments and that it’s all too political.

It’s High Time Hunting for Trophy Comes to an End

However, Eduardo Goncalves from the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting said that this is an abomination and the fact that we have many hunting trophies is a stain on Britain’s reputation.

He believes it’s like shooting a zoo animal-these are tame animals that are born and raised in captivity. For Goncalves, there’s nothing sporting about trophy hunting and canned hunting is the lowest of the low.

The shocking photo reminded many social media users of Cecil- a lion who resided in the Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe that was murdered by a dentist from America in 2015.

His poaching led to a global outrage and an international campaign against the trophy hunting industry in Africa.

Unfortunately, the lions in the wild in Africa have dropped by more than 40 percent and there are only 20,000 of them in the past two decades according to available estimates.
