The Science behind Eating according to Your Blood Type & Reduce Risks of Diseases

When it comes to weight loss and gain, there are individuals who lose surplus pounds faster than they could gain them whereas there are those who easily put on weight. This is due to the fact that we all have different types of bodies which function in their own unique ways. According to Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo, a naturopathic physician, leading a diet and following exercises that are suitable for your blood type can be one of the most effective weight loss methods. As he further explains, this is a result of the genetic traits we possess from our ancestors and what they ate.

Type of Diet according to Blood Type

Blood type A

These individuals can benefit a lot from following a vegetarian diet. They should stay away from red meat due to their higher risk of diabetes, heart problems, and cancer. It is highly recommendable that they introduce breathing exercises, relaxation, and tai chi to their lifestyle for optimal health and well-being.

Blood type B

These people are known for their strong immunity and digestion and they should incorporate plants, most meats, and dairy to their daily diet. It is good to avoid excessive consumption of corn, lentils, wheat, and tomatoes and include exercising like cycling, hiking, swimming, or tennis.

Blood type AB

Those who have this blood group can benefit a lot by following a diet which is a combination of the foods for people with blood type A and blood type B. Focus on seafood, beans, and eggs more and incorporate exercises that were listed as advantageous for the two previously-mentioned blood types.

Blood type O

These individuals need to consume more animal protein and steer away from grains and dairy.  Also, make sure to opt for intense physical exercises like running, contact sports, and aerobics.
