You are probably familiar with the expression “eyes are the window to the soul”, right? It appears that it is also scientifically-backed up. Namely, scientists from Orebro University in Sweden performed a study to see if the participants’ personality traits were associated with their eye color. What they discovered was that eye color is influenced by the same genes that create the frontal lobe and consequently, there are shared behaviors in people sharing the same or similar eye color, as seen on Little Things.
The Link between Personality & Eyes Continues
According to Dr Anthony Fallone, the eyes and the brain are neurologically connected and the eyes are the sole part of the brain which allows you to see from the outside. And, they hold important clues for our brain function.
What Your Eye Color Reveals about You?
- Brown eyes
You are a natural leader and regardless of whether you feel like this about yourself or not, other people perceive you as such. The rarest eye color is considered to be dark brown and these individuals are thought to be secretive and mysterious. Interestingly, the darker your eyes are, the more melanin you have in your system. The melanin has the role of an insulator for the connections between the brain and cells. Also, you tend to drink less than people who have lighter eyes and you are good at sports which include hitting targets, for example, tennis.
- Blue eyes
These individuals have an immense inner strength, as well as physical, and though you may appear weak, untrustworthy, or timid, you are actually the opposite. Women who have lightly-colored eyes are able to cope with the pain during childbirth easier than those with darker colors and they also seem to manage the stress of giving birth better.
- Gray eyes
Though they are quite rare, they are actually a variation of blue eyes. Dark gray eyes means that you have more melanin in the frontal part of the eyes whereas lighter gray eyes means that you have much less. Individuals with dark gray eyes are balanced people who tend to behave differently with different people, depending on the needs that need to be met. Sometimes, this can be an advantage, but other times, it may be a disadvantage. It all depends on your ability to control your emotions. Lighter gray eyes are common in people who strive to be taken seriously by others and they always have their shield up. Although they are hard to break through because of their wary exterior, they trend to care deeply for their loved ones.
- Hazel eyes
This type of eye color may switch from green to brown or it may appear as if the iris is consisted of two different colors, i.e. the ring near the pupil may be green, but it is brown closer to the iris’ perimeter. This color is very rare and people with it are often considered to be one-of-a-kind. Hence, they are people who are spontaneous, confident, and independent. However, they may be more prone to digestive problems.
- Green eyes
People with green eyes are often seen as sexy, mysterious, and alluring. In people with green eyes, there is a balanced amount of melanin that makes them dominant and agreeable, yet cautious and strong. Women and men with green eyes are considered to have an air of mystery and are highly self-sufficient. These people get easily angry and can be unpredictable. They are also creative, original, and work excellent when put under pressure.
