Removing facial hair naturally

Most women out there know how frustrating having a few facial hairs can negatively impact your confidence and self-image. They resort to plucking the hairs, or having them waxed or even laser-removed. All of these methods are invasive, making them harsh on the surrounding skin. Additionally, they can cost you a small fortune.

For those women who are genetically or otherwise prone to developing facial hair there are, fortunately, easier, cheaper, and more natural ways to get rid of this issue.

You will only need a few minutes of your time, and a few simple ingredients. Not to be worried, all of these methods come from our grandparents, and their grandparents, so finding the ingredients should be an easy task. Here are some methods for simple hair removal at home:

Baking soda hair removal at home

Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a glass (200ml) of boiling water. Leave the mixture cool, after stirring it. Get a cotton ball or a piece of gauze, soak it in the mixture, drain a bit, and place on the spots that you wish to remove the hairs from. Fix with a bandage so it stays in place, and leave overnight. Remove the patch in the morning and apply moisturizer or a nutritional cream on the area. After 2 or 3 nightly treatments the hair should start falling off.

                Iodine facial hair removal

Get 2ml of iodine, 1.5ml of ammonia, 40ml of 96% medicinal alcohol, and 10ml of castor oil. Mix all the ingredients together, and let the mixture sit until it loses all the color. Rub the mixture on the parts of your face that you wish to remove the hair from, every morning and every night. After a few days the hair should be gone, and some users of this remedy even report permanent loss of unwanted facial hair.

                Nettle oil hair removal

The following recipe has been in use since the 17th century:

You’ll need 3 tablespoons of nettle seeds. Soak them in 100ml of vegetable oil of your choice. Let the seeds soak for two weeks. After that, strain the seeds and pour the liquid into a glass jar. You should apply the oil with a cotton ball or a gauze in the evening on the area of your face that you wish to remove the hair from. Following the application, the oil should be left on for half an hour, then washed off with warm water and soap. Keep up with nightly treatments until the hairs fall off on their own.

                Garlic for facial hair removal

Squeeze a few cloves of garlic, making sure you catch all of the released juice. Apply the garlic juice to the troubled area 3 times a day. Once applied, the garlic juice should be left on for half an hour, then rinsed off with warm water. Make sure you use a moisturizing cream afterwards in order to prevent any blemishes from occurring.

Removing facial hair using a thread

If you’re not a fan of the methods listed above, try removing the unwanted hairs using a piece of thread. This method is, however, as painful as plucking, and the hair will return much faster than with any of the other methods listed. Using a thread to remove hair takes a bit of practice, basically you have to learn how to catch the hair in a loop and pull it out.
