Camera Secretly Captures Adorable Moment of a Toddler Sneaking Out of Bed to Sleep with His Dog

After she found out she was pregnant with Finn, Paige Knudtson adopted a 2-year-old dog, a boxer named Brutus, from a local rescue.

She grew up with boxers herself and she is well aware of how gentle this breed can be. However, she never anticipated the importance that this dog will have in her child’s life.

Brutus is a big teddy bear, explains Knudtson and she also adds that he loves getting attention and to snuggle with people.

Baby & Dog Develop an Amazing Bond

When she was 20 weeks pregnant with her baby, the doctors found a serious heart defect on the anatomy scan. So, right after birth, baby Finn had to undergo an open-heart surgery.

The family was beyond lucky to have discovered this problem prior to bringing the baby to the world as it wouldn’t have been with them today.

After 7 weeks in the hospital, the baby went home. When Brutus saw him, he immediately fell in love-it was as if Brutus knew Finn.

He was there to keep a close eye on him. The two love each other and spend every moment possible together-watch TV, play outside, eat, and even nap.

Brutus usually curls up when the toddler is sitting or follows him from room to room. If the baby is ill, the dog seems to know it and just stands by baby’s side or lays his head on his chest.

The dog “hates” being away from his baby brother and will scratch on the door of his room or pace outside until he’s allowed to go in.

Baby Finn Often Comes Out of His Bed to Sleep in Dog’s Bed

When Finn was still very young, the dog slept on a rug in front of the crib. Now, with Finn a toddler, the dog is together with him in the bed.

They noticed that the dog crawling up and going to sleep together with the baby every night, as if he wanted to prevent him from rolling out of the bed.

And, believe it or not, instead of staying in his bed, the toddler often goes and snuggles with Brutus. When the dog is sleeping on the floor, the boy takes his blanket and snuggles up to his sleeping buddy.

The gentle dog loves being used as a pillow-everything for his brother to be comfy! The family loves their relationship and is happy that their son has a protector and a best friend and looks forward to seeing them grow together.
