Who would’ve thought that this wild bear would have a pleasant time enjoying on a sofa someone dumped at a garbage site?
The unusual moment was caught on camera by Mandy Stantic and her family who were driving around Lac Brochet in the north of Manitoba in Canada last spring.
Family Surprised by a Lounging Bear on a Sofa
They drove around to try and spot some of the bears that live there. Little did the family know that they’ll witness this cute wild bear sitting upright and relaxed on a discarded couch.
Stantic explained that it’s all forest surrounding the dump site for hundreds of miles-the bears usually have enough to eat, but the berries aren’t out yet in early spring and so they probably come and visit garbage sites to find food.
There was another bear on the site too and Stantic notes that it seems that the saying ‘one’s person’s trash is another’s treasure’ is more than real.
Stantic wants to believe that this bear has just eaten and that it got on the couch to relax.
She jokingly said that ‘all it needed was some popcorn and Netflix’.
Stantic took some interesting photos of the lounging bear and her friend before they moved on their way.
The family says they’ll never forget this moment- the bear was posing like a human would-a unique moment you can’t see often.
