Elderly Widow Takes Stranger & His Newborn Home after Airline Leaves Them Stranded

This wonderful woman from Arizona opened the doors of her home to one father and his 4-day-old baby after their airline informed them that the newborn was too young for travel.

Rubin Swift was waiting to board on a flight from Phoenix with his newborn daughter Ru-Andria. However, the airline alerted him that they have a policy that says a child has to be at least 7 days old to fly.

Swift had just recently gained custody over his daughter and he had no idea about this rule.

No Back-Up Plan, so a Kind Woman Steps Up

Swift had no extra money and no back-up plan. After he asked the airline for a refund, they responded him that he would have to wait for one week to get the money back.

He said that he couldn’t sleep in the airport with a newborn because they can take his baby away from him.

However, he remembered a person he met in the NICU-Joy Ringhofer. She’s a volunteer at the Banner University Medical Center where his daughter was born.

In this urgent time of need, he decided to contact her and see if she can help. She didn’t hesitate for a second.

She actually responded that she’ll be there to pick them up and bring them home with her. Swift says how she brought them to her house, gave them food, and ensured the baby is okay.

Amazing Woman Who Swift Will Never Forget

Ringhofer said she felt safe because she knew how good Swift was.

Even though they spent only several days together, Swift says the elderly lady is now a part of his family and he calls her Ru-Andria’s grandma.

He describes her as a beautiful and wonderful woman who’s been so good towards him and his daughter and that he’s going to miss her when they’ll have to say their goodbyes.
