Winston Howe loved his wife Janet. They fell in love at first sight and knew they were soul mates. Their love only grew stronger with every day passing by.
They got married in 1962 and their love for each other was unconditional and so strong.
People in their community would often ask them how their marriage remained so strong and happy throughout the years.
After saying their ‘I do’s’, the couple moved into a loving farmhouse spreading on 112 acres in the English countryside.
They had their first child short after.
Unfortunately, one day, the happiness shattered-after 33 amazing years of marriage, Winston lost his beloved wife-she died of heart attack.
An Amazing & Loving Bond that’s Should Serve as an Example of True Love
Their relationship was so strong-they had a healthy and lovely boy and a thriving farm. They had the perfect life and dream home for more than 3 decades.
Unfortunately, Janet passed away in 1995 after a heart failure at only 50 years of age. Winston’s world crumbled and he was no longer on this planet with the love of his life.
In order to pay her homage, Winston did an amazing thing-he planted 6000 oak trees on a field near their shared home.
His goal was to make a private and holy place where he and his son could come and visit when the day is challenging.
The tribute is indeed special-it’s located inside the forest and it’s a heart-shaped meadow.
This beautiful homage wasn’t visible for 17 years- he planted all those trees, but many didn’t know his true motivation.
Man Discovers the Hidden Heart-Shaped Meadow from Hot Air Balloon
It was hidden among the trees. However, in 2012, his secret was found when one man, Andy Collett, was flying up the area in a hot air balloon. He looked down and he had a stunning view-a heart-shaped forest!
Andy said that he is frequent flyer in this area with his hot air balloon and that this is one of the most stunning views he’s ever witnessed.
The tip of the heart is pointed towards Janet’s childhood home, i.e. the Wotton Hill village. Winston also built a hedge around it where every spring you can see daffodils blooming in the centre.
The emotional Winston said that he loved the idea that came to him in a flash and so he planted the several oak trees.
When it was ready, they placed a seat in the field that was overlooking the hill where his beloved wife used to live.
Often times, he visits the heart-shaped meadow and reminisces the wonderful times they had together.
He considers it a lovely and long-lasting tribute to Janet. Losing a loved one is a hard thing; however, this story shows us that tragedy can sometimes bring out the better in people.
The thing we need to do is to wipe away the tears to be able to see better-at least that’s what Howes did for the love of his life.
