Sometimes, when we’re at our lowest, we’re actually on the first step towards achieving something great.
At least this happened to Taihei Kobayashi, who lived on the streets of Tokyo because of his life that changed a lot. Namely, he moved out of his home at the age of 17 because he dropped out of school to focus on music.
His parents didn’t agree with this.
However, this once homeless man is now the head of a tech start-up with an estimated value of more than $1 billion.
Kobayashi Didn’t Give Up on His Dream
Although he spent nights and nights sleeping and wandering the streets of Tokyo, he didn’t give up the only thing he couldn’t live without-music.
He played it during the day and at nights; he kept himself warm using cardboard boxes.
Believe it or not, he lived like this for almost a year. Soon enough, he got out of the streets and managed to get training for a software engineer and then got a job.
But, it wasn’t an easy journey to get where he is now.
Kobayashi Lost everything, but Discovered His Real Love
Kobayashi says he’s proud of where he’s today, but says he’ll never forget the cold nights when life felt like hell.
When he finished the course for a software engineer, he realized that he wants to offer something more to the industry. He wanted to build a business model that works.
So, he moved to Vietnam in 2012 and hired couple of young engineers. The year after, he created the Framgia Inc. In Japan which later became the Sun in 2019.
This company sources engineers which help start-ups in Japan to build a business. His goal is to commit to the growth of these start-ups. Sun continued to grow and today, they are proud of their more than 70 clients.
Kobayashi, once a man living on the street and sleeping in cardboard boxes, is now someone who’s worth almost a billion.
This is an amazing transformation-life can sometimes be miraculous, don’t you agree?
