Thanks to this wonderful Amazon delivery truck driver, a baby abandoned on the side of the road after a carjack in Texas, was saved and brought to his family.
According to the driver, one Juan Carlos Flores, he saw the newborn strapped into a car seat while on his delivery route in the north of Houston.
He said that the first thing he thought is that this isn’t normal-the baby being on the side of the road. When he made sure it was an infant in the car seat, he says he wanted to cry.
He thought how someone could have the heart to leave a baby like this.
Flores Takes the Baby, Makes Sure He’s Safe
Flores took the baby and brought it to a neighbor nearby. They took the baby inside and then called the police.
When Flores got back to the route, he saw police officers searching for the baby and he told them where they could find him.
According to the policeman, the baby was left during a carjacking; the baby’s mother left the her car to check if she locked the apartment. However, when she went back to the parking lot, there was no car and no baby.
According to the cameras nearby the location where the baby was found, the suspect abandoned the baby and then ditched the car nearby.
According to the neighbour, Mirna Garcia, the thief must’ve realized that there was a baby in the car.
He also explained that the cameras showed the baby was there for around 20 minutes before the Amazon driver rescued it and took it away from the street.
Unfortunately, around 6 cars drove by and no one noticed the car seat, explained Garcia. And, it was also trash day that day, so it was harder to realize something was on the corner of the road.
The good news is that the baby is safe and sound and reunited with his momma. However, until now, no suspects have been arrested.
