Woman Blasted on Twitter for Saying She Is “Raised to Take Care” of Her Husband

A woman on Twitter was blasted by users after she twitted that she’s raised to care of her husband.

The single Brylea Kay who’s a student from Texas took it to social media to share a controversial stand.

Users on Twitter were fuming after she made this statement.

It said “call me old fashioned, but I was raised to take care of my husband-make his plate every night, wash his work clothes for him, make sure he’s up for work the next morning, always have a clean house for him to come home to, etc. And, that’s exactly the wife I will be.”

Twitter Users Started Blaming Kay for Misogyny

Kay’s tweet went viral fast and she got more than 54,000 likes and around 5,000 comments from people who blamed her for misogyny.

One user said that “and we wonder why so many men remain in a perpetual state of adolescence. My 11-year-old son is more self-reliant than this dude”.

Another one agreed and said “I’ve been married 30 years. Marriage is a partnership, with give and take and mutual respect for each other, not one person catering to the other. Think about the model you’re setting for your daughters”.

One said “been there, divorced that”.

Some Users actually Defended Kay’s Stand

Some of the Twitter comments were in defense of Kay and said she should be able to make her own choices.

One of those who supported her wrote that “it’s totally okay because you know your husband will also take care of you with his own ways. Maybe by working all day long to afford what you need and want. Nothing is wrong for a woman to do any kind of work including the domestic ones as long as we’re happy to do it”.

Another one wrote that “nothing wrong with this at all if you’re a stay at home wife. But, if you work too, I feel like the chores should totally be 50/50”.

Kay responded to the backlash she received and tweeted that “heaven forbid anybody have an opinion of their own”.

What are your thoughts on Kay’s tweet?
