Maria Isabel Benites Chamba was laid to rest at the age of 95 last week in Ecuador. Her family and friends attended her funeral to pay their respects, but it’s one attendee that caught everyone’s attention and insisted on more.
Namely, Chamba’s beloved pet dog Bumer refused to leave her side until the end. During Chamba’s wake, Bumer remained close, just as he always did when Chamba was alive.
The spokesperson for the funeral home said that the loyalty and affection that existed between Chamba and her dog was evident. Bumer was always there for her, including her funeral.

When the ceremony ended, a procession was formed to follow Chamba’s coffin to the cemetery. Bumer, the faithful dog, insisted of coming too.
The funeral spokesperson said how Bumer circled the hearse before he hopped inside as if he was saying “I want to go and say goodbye to my mom”. Everyone was amazed by the dog’s loyalty.
But it wasn’t easy for the dog-it was evident that he was heartbroken, but the love and connection they shared were unbreakable. Although Chamba is no longer with her family, friends, and Bumer, Bumer’s faithfulness continues.
Everyone will try to move on and heal together. The good news is that Bumer won’t be alone and her family will be there for him. All of them were united together, remembering the person they loved so dearly and will remember forever.
