Unfortunately, homeless kids on the streets deal with a lot of loneliness and helplessness and it’s not easy to bear it all. Their uncertain destiny makes every day a struggle. But, when there’s a friend on this harsh path, things become a bit better.
Pets are the ideal example of unconditional and pure love. They offer us daily joy, without asking for anything in return. With pets, we learn how to love unconditionally and realize the true value of commitment, reciprocity, and loyalty.
This happened with this boy that used to live on the streets-he was on his own, but luckily, he had the support of his faithful dog. Maria Kabs from Manila in the Philippines shared photos and videos of the friendly pair and quickly went viral.
The boy, one Rommel Quemenales who’s only 11 years old lives on the streets of Quezon City, and people were moved by his story.
Homeless Boy Adopts the Dog & Have Been Together ever since
Rommel adopted the dog three years ago and named him Badgi. He found him on the streets and decided to take him and both will never be alone again.
The boy’s parents separated when he was very young and ended up abandoned without any help or guidance whatsoever. He does have an older sister that lives in a city nearby and sometimes when he has the chance, he visits her.
This boy has been treated unfairly several times, either by the police or by some other kids who have stolen the coins he had earned. The boy also explains that he never steals anything, just asks for coins.
Kabs wanted to share the boy’s story and help increase the chance for this good boy to get home and away from the streets. She shared several photos and videos of the boy with his sweet Badgi. She also asked people to share his story and help them both.
A Friend in Need Is a Friend Indeed
The boy who lived on the streets of Quezon doesn’t have it easy at all. But, thanks to Badgi, he’s not entirely alone. His pet is his real friend and an awesome companion. When he’s able to, the boy teaches him tricks and spend fun time together.
The boy says that his biggest wish is to go back to school. He finished the second grade but wishes to be able to study more. He wanted to go back to his hometown Bulacan and finish school.
At one point, the boy hopes to become an actor.
Thanks to Good People, the Boy Is now in His Hometown
The viral story helped Rommel and Badgi get back to the boy’s hometown. He now attends school and tries to create a better future for himself and his canine friend.
No matter what happened in his life, this boy is full of love and shows it on a daily through the unique bond he has developed with his dog.
