42 kids were reported missing during a school trip in Nahal Og, close to the Dead Sea. Luckily, all of them were located and are doing fine thanks to the rescue teams.
18 kids were reported rescued and 21 of them were located by a drone. The teams made their way to them by foot and three others were found and rescued with a search helicopter.
By 11 pm, all of the kids were back with the rescuers and were given water, food, and blankets.
Kids Gone Missing on a School Trip Successfully Rescued
These children between the grades of fifth and eighth were reported missing around 7 pm on a Monday evening.
The volunteers from the Israel Police’s Megillot Dead Sea Rescue Unit and other units came to the scene and started their search right away.
The drones first found only some of the kids, but eventually, they helped the teams locate every kid.
Some 42 kids got disconnected from the group and went in different directions, according to one of the members of the rescue team, Matan Morad.
At first, they didn’t have the correct number of kids or their names. He hoped for a happy ending and luckily it was. But, this wasn’t the reality for another case of missing kids.
Back in April 2018, ten kids, nine girls, and one boy, all from a pre-military academy, were killed after a surge carried them off in the Tzafit stream, west of the south of the Dead Sea during strong storms.
