Metallica stepped in to help out an LA street performer after his drum kit was stolen.
The drummer, Sheriff Drumman, plays drums on the back of his truck and got firsthand help from one of the most popular rock bands on the planet.
Last December, Drumman’s drum kit and truck were stolen in front of his apartment in Hawthorne. The musician decided to ask for help on social media, but little did he know that Metallica will answer!
Drumman’s Plea Reaches Metallica, the Band Gifts Him a New Drum Kit
Since they learned that Drumman isn’t what he should be without his drums, they decided to surprise him with a new kit. The musician was emotional after being gifted with a new kit in Hollywood and it was given to him by a band’s representative.
He said that he’s beyond thankful to the band and expressed his gratitude for the members taking the time and spending resources to support his mission. He said he loves them for that.
The band responded to his reaction in a tweet and said they were more than happy to help out a fellow musician. Drumman now has his drums and was also reunited with the truck several days after it had been reported stolen.
In one of his posts with his new drum kits, he wrote the following caption:
“I’m so grateful that God is allowing me to put the drums back together. I truly appreciate all the love and support.”
People Have Been Generous & Helping this Amazing Musician Get through this Difficult Period
Drumman has been drumming on the back of his truck and drives throughout LA in California and often travels to Vegas, but also to every city in between.
He loves to play for people because they immediately have a smile on their faces when they hear the music.
For the last five years, he’s grown his business, but unfortunately, had his drum kit stolen. Prior to Metallica gifting the musician with a new drum kit, people have helped him raise $20,000 of his $70,000 goal through his GoFundMe page.
The truck that was stolen didn’t just include the drums, but also a sound system, a fog machine, a generator, and stage lights.
