A group of scuba divers volunteered to help this lovely woman reunite with her wedding antique ring after it accidentally flew off her finger and ended up in the river.
This happened while Emma Lyon watched a regatta from the River Great Ouse banks on a Saturday. Suddenly, the 100-year-old ring flew into the water in front.
This gold ring belonged to Lyon’s grandma and she was shocked that it disappeared from her sight so fast.
Suddenly, it was nowhere to be found.
A Ring with Plenty of Sentimental Value, Explains Lyon
Lyon’s grandma, whose ring this was, passed away in 2000 at the amazing age of 100! She used to work as a corn merchant on Caldwell Street. Sometimes, she would get up early and take the family’s pun out at the river before work, explains Lyon.
She said that she was a brave and lovely woman.
At first, Lyon didn’t think it was possible to find the ring because it ended up being in a fitting, resting place, according to the divers.
Luckily, these good people gave up their evening to make the search and she thinks it’s a miracle that they were able to locate it!
The Group of Divers Successfully Retriever the Ancient Golden Ring
Knowing how important and how valuable the ring is, Lyon contacted the Bedford Scuba Divers the next day after a friend of hers told her they might be able to help out.
She was positively surprised at their fast response. The next day, a group of divers went to the location and searched for the ring.
The team successfully retrieved it and Lyon was there, patiently waiting and with a smile on her face when she saw one of the divers coming out with the ring in his hand.
She thanked them and they all went to enjoy some thank you drinks at a nearby pub.
