Why Do We Get Constipated During Vacations?

The health specialist explains that constipation is a common issue for many travelers, due to numerous reasons.

Some of the major ones are disturbed circadian rhythm, dehydration, insufficient fiber, stress from travel, or a combo of these and other factors.

In one of the viral videos, Oriana shared her personal favorites to stimulate bowel movements. It’s been viewed almost seven million times.

What Are the Tricks that Oriana Shared?

Here are the methods that Oriana shared with the world to help them poop during vacations:

  • The scooping method

Lie down and bend your knees. Find the hip bones and go ahead and scoop the tissue up.

Breathe deeply and hold the pose for three breaths. Expand the belly down as you’re breathing in and out.

  • ILU massage

The physical therapist assistant proposes the I Love U or ILU massage for the promotion of bowel movements.

While on the ground, you turn to the side and massage the stomach by forming the letters I, L, and U with your fingers.

You do this in all four corners. Remember to breathe deeply during the massage and savor the moment.

  • Prone belly breathing

While on the back onto the floor, breathe into the back and into the belly.

Notice how the back of the ribs is expanding. If you feel discomfort in the back, place a pillow underneath the belly.

  • Trunk rotation

Oriana recommends lying on the back, letting the legs in a hook line or a supine position. Then, rock the legs from one side to the other side.

You’ll feel a nice stretch in the abdominal area. You can also roll over onto the side and open things up.

The last one can be done while seating. Lift the arms up overhead and move from the left to the right and vice versa.
