This School Janitor Drops to His Knees & Cries after Coworkers Bought Him a New Truck

Although this janitor had to change several buses and walk a few extra miles to get to his job, he didn’t miss a day. All kids and staff love him because he smiles and brings joy to everyone.

His colleagues appreciate his joyful spirit and amazing work ethic so they came together in an effort to help him out.

They left him speechless and in tears.

Janitor Brought to Tears by What His Coworkers Did for Him

60-year-old Robert Reed changed three buses and walked an extra mile every day to get to work. But, he never complains and says that he loves his job.

For the beloved janitor at this Tennessee school, nothing will keep him away from being among the colleagues, students, and teachers that he adores.

However, a large part of his day passes in commute. For example, if he finishes work at 3 pm, he would be home at 7 pm because he switches buses and then walks the remaining distance.

The school is located in Germantown while Reed lives at Millbranch and Winchester. He has no vehicle so getting to work and getting home from work is time-consuming.

But, since he loves his job so much and the people he’s surrounded with, he didn’t look for another job, closer to home.

Sometimes, there are kind people who offer to give him a lift. Often, the teachers will drive him to the bus station or give him money when he doesn’t have any.

Despite being at their school for four months only, this janitor has brought smiles to people’s faces. The whole atmosphere is better because of him. So, the teachers came together and decided to do this amazing thing for Reed.

Reed Gets a Truck & Will Launch His Own Business

That day when they called him into the library, he thought there was a mess that needed to be cleaned.

For him, no job is too small or too big. He ensures the school premises are always safe, clean, and sanitized. But, when he went into the library, he saw there was a group of teachers.

They informed him that they opened an online fundraiser for him so that he can buy a car and no longer commute so long to work. For only 21 hours, the donators raised $7000. Reed was overcome with emotions when he heard this.

He dropped to his knees and started crying. He hugged the teachers who told him that he deserves nothing less. When the fundraiser finished, the good people managed to raise more than $49,000!

Reed said he couldn’t have made it without these people and he’s grateful that he’ll now be able to purchase a truck. He will also use a part of the money to start a side lawn care business and become more independent.

This job wouldn’t have been possible without a vehicle, but now it’s a reality!
