DIY Bleach Alternative with Hydrogen Peroxide

White vinegar and hydrogen peroxide, the stars of this alternative bleach, form peracetic acid together. This acid has sanitizing characteristics and many use it in diluted form to disinfect organic food, eggs, and chicken. 

Here’s what you need:

1 ½ cups of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide

½ cup of lemon juice or white vinegar

A gallon of water

A jug of one gallon 

10 drops of lemon or lemongrass essential oil, optional

How to make it:

Add the hydrogen and vinegar into the jug. Fill the jug with water. Close it well and it’s ready for use.

If you wish, you can also make a dosed amount of two cups for two loads of white laundry to try it out and see if it works for you.

For this, you’ll need:

2 cups of water

A tbsp of vinegar

3 tbsps of hydrogen peroxide 

2 to 3 drops of lemon or lemongrass essential oil, optional
