Cayenne Pepper May Save Lives: No Home Should Be Without It

If there’s one herbal medicine that you need to choose to have in your home forever, believe us, you will be making the best decision if you go with cayenne pepper.

This well-known red pepper doesn’t just add a vibrant flavor to a variety of meals, but it’s also packed with impressive health benefits.

According to registered dietitian Alexis Supan, RD, these peppers are an awesome addition to your diet.

They’re long and skinny peppers and have a glossy and cherry-red color. They belong to the Solanaceae family and their distant relatives are eggplants, tomatoes, and potatoes.

They’re hot, but not too much like some of the hottest pepper varieties. If you like spicy food, you’ll enjoy eating them. The good news is that you needn’t eat them like you eat apples to benefit from them.

You can add them to your diet by introducing them in powder form or combining them in other delicious dishes.

Why Cayenne Pepper Deserves All the Attention It Can Get?

Cayenne pepper’s active ingredient capsaicin is the main “culprit” for this pepper’s popularity in the world of holistic medicine.

Namely, it’s been found to help with blood pressure, cholesterol, blood flow, weak pulse, hemorrhages, oxidative stress, insulin sensitivity, ulcers, congestion, GI problems, inflamed gut, GI reflux, wound healing, fibromyalgia ache, arthritis, rheumatism, etc.

More than 2000 studies have been done on the properties of cayenne pepper and capsaicin.

How May Cayenne Pepper Help Stop a Heart Attack

Dr. John Christopher N.D., and Dr. Richard Schulze, N.D. praise the healing power of cayenne pepper.

According to Dr. Christopher, in his 35 years of practice and working with people and teaching, he has not lost one heart attack patient during in-house calls.

He explains that the reason for this is that if they’re still breathing, he gives them a cup of cayenne tea (a teaspoon of cayenne pepper mixed in a cup of warm water) and this helps bring them back.

But, in order for this to happen, they note that the cayenne pepper has to be at least 90,000 heat units. This type of cayenne pepper mixed with warm water can be given to people experiencing a heart attack who’re still conscious.

The recommended amount is one teaspoon and a glass of warm water.

What Health Benefits to Expect from Cayenne Pepper?

Cayenne peppers are abundant in nutrients, including vitamins A, C, B6, and K. Moreover, fresh cayenne peppers will supply you with the highest amount of vitamins.

From one fresh pepper, you get 72 percent of the RDA of vitamin C and 50 percent of vitamin A.

The dried cayenne pepper doesn’t have as much as vitamins as the fresh variety, but it’s still excellent. From one teaspoon, you get 15 percent of the RDA of vitamin A.

With cayenne pepper consumption, you will get important antioxidants and other nutrients that will fight against oxidative stress, protect your cardiovascular health by reducing inflammation, and enjoy better digestion because they stimulate the release of gastric juices and the production of enzymes for the easier breakdown of food.

It will also help you speed up your metabolism and help in your weight loss efforts, and help you heal from congestion and headaches faster.
