DIY Paste with Turmeric, Tea Tree Oil, and Eucalyptus Oil: Relieves Warts and Ingrown Nails

Turmeric is a bright and yellow spice that’s very popular in Indian cuisine. The star of turmeric is curcumin, the active compound. It’s known to possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial characteristics.

Turmeric has been linked with a healthier liver, lower risk of liver damage, lower risk of cardiovascular diseases, and lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Curcumin has been praised for its ability to decrease pain. You can apply turmeric topically or take it orally to decrease pain associated with injuries, arthritis, or osteoarthritis issues.

Tea tree oil possesses antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties that make it suitable for the fight against health issues triggered by pathogens. Tea tree oil, according to research, helps alleviate bacteria that cause acne, candida overgrowth, skin infections, toenail fungus, etc.

When inhaled, tea tree oil may induce respiratory relief by opening the sinuses, loosening up the mucus, and alleviating coughing and congestion linked with allergies, colds, and the flu.

Before you use it, always dilute it with water, especially if you’re going to apply it topically. This is to prevent irritations.

Eucalyptus oil is a great decongestant. It helps open up the sinuses and dissolve mucus. It may also play a role in fighting off bacteria and viruses. When applied topically, it may alleviate inflammation and provide relief from sore muscles, bug bites, arthritis pain, ingrown nails, etc.

Dilated eucalyptus oil may also have numbing effects that will help dull nerve pain associated with neuropathy and sciatica.

When combined, turmeric, tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil create a potent paste with a long list of benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and pain-reducing.

To make the paste, you will need:

A teaspoon of turmeric powder

Several drops of tea tree or eucalyptus oil

Preparation:

Mix the two ingredients well to make a fine paste.

How to use it:

Apply the paste directly onto the affected area. For easier application, you can use a cotton swab.

Cover the area with a bandage by wrapping it lightly. Repeat daily for a week.

Within a week, you should notice a reduction in the swelling, redness, and pain. If this doesn’t happen, consult your physician or dermatologist.

Good to Know:

  • Make sure you’ve applied the paste all along the nail’s sides, into the fold, so that it can work better at reducing the inflammation and help the nail grow out again
  • If the situation is really bad, apply the paste two to three times per day
