Foot & Toe Stretches

  1. Tennis ball roll

Step onto a tennis ball and roll it under the foot while applying a gentle pressure for a couple of minutes. Repeat the same with the other foot. When you finish with the rolling, tilt the foot so that the toes are pointed towards the knee and then “unstretch” the toes in regular position.

  1. Toes & fingers

Sit with the legs in front of you with the toes pointed upwards. Lean forward with the body and try to touch the toes with your fingers and then go back to primary position. If you cannot do it with both feet at once, try one at a time.

  1. The toe raise

While standing on your feet, lift the toes upward and make sure the pinky toe remains on the same height as the big one. Do 5 repetitions with each foot.

  1. The rock out

While in standing position, rock your weight to the outside of the foot and lift your weight of the inside of the foot. Then, rock toward the inside until the weight now rests on the inside of the foot. Make 10 reps on each side.

Additional Tips for Healthy Feet

Barefoot walking

Also known as earthing, barefoot walking is highly beneficial for the health of the toes because it improves their flexibility and strengthens the muscles.

Epsom salt foot baths

Soaking your feet in a mixture of warm water and Epsom salt can be of great aid for the proper detoxification of the whole body, including the feet.

Wear adequate shoes

You need to avoid wearing smaller or bigger sizes of shoes than the size which matches your feet length and width. Proper shoes give space to the feet to breathe and enable the much needed support.
