Cabbage is one of the most amazing veggies because it is low in calories and important nutrients like vitamin K, C, and potassium. It is known to have anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory characteristics. When used for the treatment of arthritis in the form of compresses, it can alleviate the discomfort and ache significantly.
How to Make Cabbage Compresses
Needed:
One medium-sized red cabbage
Aluminum foil
Rolling pin or meat hammer
Gauze
Preparation: Peel several outer cabbage leaves and wash and dry them well. Remove the hard stem and then with the help of a rolling pin or a meat hammer, treat the leaves so that they release their juice. Next, wrap the leaves in some aluminum foil and warm it up in the oven or in the microwave for a bit.
Application: Place the warmed up leaf onto the affected area and attach it with gauze. Leave the compress for 60 minutes and repeat the procedure three times per day (always with a fresh leaf). For a cold compress, keep the cabbage in the fridge for several hours prior to the treatment.
