DIY Fabric Softener with Vinegar
You will need:
A gallon of white vinegar, diluted
30 drops of your favorite essential oil
Preparation: In a large bowl, mix the ingredients and then transfer them into a proper container, like a bottle.
Use: Add it to the washing cycle as you do with regular fabric softener. Your clothes and skin will thank you!
Why Use Vinegar as a Fabric Softener?
Distilled vinegar is an excellent choice for those who do not want to use strong store-bought fabric softeners. When diluted with water, it makes a natural softener for laundry and it will never leave residues on the clothes as store-bought ones do.
Moreover, as commercial softeners can mess up the fire retardant properties of children’s clothes, particularly pajamas, avoid them in washing. Use vinegar instead because it is perfectly safe and hypoallergenic for all types of children clothes.
