A Guy from Alabama Mows Veterans’ Lawns & Now Gives Free Meals to Veterans

When he was only 15 years old, Rodney Smith saw an elderly man who was finding it hard to mow his lawn.

He decided to help him and since then, he’s helped so many other people to mow their lawns, mostly elderly, disabled people, veterans, and single mothers.

He also launched an organization that is helping the ones in need throughout the US and he’s also using the organization to inspire other young people to do the same.

He is the founder of Raising Men Lawn Care Service and the main motivation of more than 700 children from across the 50 states to take up on the beautification challenge and mow 50 lawns in their community.

Amazing Young Person Who Helps & Inspires Others to Do Good

After he helps people mow their lawns, he sends the mowers a colored T-shirt for every 10 lawns they help to eventually get a black colored T-shirt.

He set up his organization back in 2015 while the Bermuda native was a student at the Alabama A&M University and their motto is making a difference one lawn at a time.

The Need for Helping Increased because of the Pandemic

The current COVID-19 pandemic increased the need for help. In his community, along with other helpers with big hearts, Rodney is delivering free meals and other needed supplies to people who’re disabled, veterans, elderly, single mothers, etc.

The organization works with the help of donations and Rodney uses them to mow people’s lawns and buy them needed supplies and drop them off in front of their homes.

Many good people worldwide are donating money to the organization and help Rodney buy water, fruit, hand sanitizers, toilet papers, and other necessities for people who can’t leave their homes.

Rodney is active on social media and he uses it to find people who need help. After he helps him, he doesn’t forger to take a photo with them. He is definitely a man who’s on a helping mission.

However, his 50-state mowing tour is currently paused because of the pandemic. Rodney explains that he’ll continue to mow and do what he loves to do best-help others.
