Amsterdam Is Getting a Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory with a Roller Coaster

A Willy Wonka style chocolate factory with a rollercoaster is going to be built in Amsterdam by 2024.

The factory, created by the ethical chocolate brand Tony’s Chocolonely, will offer education about the food industry and interactive games and experiences.

The building currently named Pakhuis De Vrede used to store grains and cocoa will be transformed into the Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate Circus.

It will be located on the Amsterdam-Zaanstad border and canal boats will take guests to the front.

The similarity between the Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are apparent with guests being offered the chance to watch the process of chocolate production inside.

The children will also be able to learn how chocolate is made from the start-how it was farmed to how it got to the shelves.

Amazing Chocolate Factory for all Chocolate Lovers to Enjoy in

The inside of the factory will include snack stores and cafes with chocolate-y drinks and foods.

A gift shop is also planned where the visitors can purchase branded products.

What about the Rollercoaster?

Some would say that the rollercoaster is the best part-it will be located on the side of the building.

The passengers will climb up to the track that’s next to the canal prior to a steep drop and looping round and round.

The project is estimated to take 3 years and will cost around 100 million Euros. The Tony’s Chocolonely launched back in 2005 with the goal to put an end to cocoa farm slavery.

They first talked about their plans for the Chocolate Circus in 2018; however, recent announcements said it was postponed because of the pandemic.

They wrote on their website that although they may need to wait a bit longer for their dream to come true.
