Jack Rico, a 13-year-old boy, may seem like any other boy his age with his immense love for video games and petty arguments with his older sister.
But, he’s far away from the average child you know-this teen actually graduated with 4 associate’s degrees in a period of two years.
The boy graduated from Fullerton College in California and this made him the youngest person to achieve this in the school’s 107-year-old history, said the college.
The Youngest Graduate with 4 Associate Degrees
Majoring in one study is challenging enough, but this young teen earned 4 degrees, i.e. in human expression, social science, history, and social behavior and kept a 4.0 GPA.
Rico says he loves learning new things and loves knowing things about the world and the things in it that can be studied.
This community college has around 21,000 students from different backgrounds and areas of life; however, according to President Greg Schulz, Rico can’t help but stand out of the rest.
This is because it’s not every day you get to see such young students attending college and he’s pretty known on the campus. The boy is wise beyond his years and Schulz says they’re more than pleased to have him excel at their university.
Gifted Boy since the Days He Was a Toddler
When asked about the ‘secret’ to his stunning achievements, Rico says there’s nothing. He relies on time management and listening to the instructors.
According to Ru Andrade, the boy’s mother, she knew her son was special since his young toddler days. When he was four, she asked him what he wanted for his birthday.
To her surprise, the boy answered he wanted a trip to the White House. She told him that if he can memorize all the US presidents, she’ll take him there.
One week later, the boy came to his momma and surprised her with the response. He knew all the presidents and also the VPs.
That’s when she knew that the boy is special.
What Are the Next Plans for Wonderful Boy Rico?
Prior to attending Fullerton, the boy was homeschooled and so his first graduation was the one from college. Because of the pandemic, the in-person ceremony was cancelled. He was a bit disappointed and sad.
This is why his family and friends wanted to host him a surprise-they celebrated by holding a drive-by graduation parade.
