DIY Ginger Oil

This recipe is cost-efficient and an excellent way to reap its numerous benefits.

You’ll need:

1 cup of ginger root, sliced thinly

1.5 cups of olive or coconut oil

Spread out the thin ginger slices on a drying rack if you’re going to air dry (it will need 24 hours) it or in the food dehydrator.

Dehydrate it for 2 hours. Put the slices in a pot and cover them with the oil. Steep it for 2 hours on low heat.

Then, strait it through a cheesecloth into a container and close it tight. Keep it in a cool and dry area or in the fridge.

Why Is the Ginger Dried Prior to Making the Oil?

This is mostly done as oil and water don’t mix and the water is being removed first by drying out the ginger. Also, this will help prolong the duration of the oil!
