One poor dog found itself alone swimming in the middle of Lake Michigan. Luckily, this family was there for it.
Jennie Wilcox and her family saw a ‘red animal’ in the middle of this lake while they were on a boat trip from Grand Haven to Frankfort. The dog was probably treading the lake for almost an hour.
Wilcox began screaming ‘dog in the water!’The dog was around 4 miles off the shore and had been in water for a while.
They came to her and brought her up on the platform easily. They dried her right away-the dog was cold and scared.
Poor Dog Saved in the Middle of Lake Michigan
After they calmed down the dog and made sure it’s okay, they took the boat to the Belmont town to get it scanned for a microchip. They easily tracked the dog’s family and reunited them.
The family that rescued the dog was beyond happy seeing them reunite. Wilcox said that she hopes that if this happened to her dog that somebody would do the same to help her.
She would be grateful because she’s aware of how rough Lake Michigan can be.
In a video that Wilcox shared on her Facebook, the dog is seen rushing to her owners and they’re so delighted to see her again.
Wilcox captioned the video ‘happy, happy reunion! All dogs welcome on Off the Hook…aka water dog rescue’.
With the sweet dog safe at her own home, the Wilcox said that they’re so grateful to be a part of this sweet reunion.
