51-Year-Old Mom Gives Birth to Her Granddaughter after She Became Her Daughter’s Surrogate

A 51-year-old woman who was her daughter’s surrogate gave birth to her granddaughter. Julie Loving delivered a healthy baby girl in a hospital in Illinois in November last year.

The baby’s biological mom and Julia’s daughter Breanna Lockwood was there by her side.

Lockwood had multiple in vitro fertilization sessions, several surgeries, and several miscarriages, including a pregnancy with twins which severely damaged her uterus.

Her mom watched her suffer through all of this and decided to offer her help.

Her Mom Wanted to Help Her Have Children

Loving explains that as soon as her daughter had her first miscarriage, she mentioned a potential surrogacy to her husband. She would love to be there for her if things get hard; however, she didn’t know that it would actually happen.

It wasn’t easy to convince her daughter, even though she was told by a fertility specialist that a surrogate would be their only hope to conceive.

This is when the mom did all the necessary tests to see if she could be a match.

We Become so much Closer after this, Says the Family

When Lockwood held her newborn daughter whom they named Briar, she thought it was quite crazy since she never heard of something similar and there was also her mom’s age.

But, it turned out her mom is healthier than a lot of 20- and 30-year-olds.

Loving says she was motivated by her own motherhood to carry her grandchild and there was also the pain and loss her daughter went through that she wanted to put an end to.

She wanted to help her daughter and her husband feel better and take away their pain. She wanted her to help fulfill her dreams of motherhood.

Lockwood is often raising awareness on her Instagram about problems with fertility and says how this experience made her family closer.
