Thanks to this hack using those inexpensive plastic laundry baskets, you can plant and grow your own strawberry batches easily.
With some stuff you already have at home, you can plant and grow strawberries in the comfort of your own home without spending a small fortune.
Strawberries aren’t overly needy and they can be grown in several ways, including raised beds and pallets, but also in different types of containers.
In fact, you can use a laundry basket to create a strawberry planter.
This is actually an idea by the Garden Answer YouTube channel and it’s gone viral since. People swear by it!
How to Make Your Own DIY Strawberry Laundry Basket Container
Get the laundry basket from Walmart or elsewhere-choose the color you liked the most. Punch a hole on the bottom for drainage.
Line it up with burlap sack from the inside and fill it up with adequate soil. Cut surplus burlap if it’s spilling out of the edges.
Cut holes in the sack where the basket’s holes are and where you want to plant your strawberries. Then, plant the strawberries.
Garden Answer has left the upper part empty to plant other beautiful stuff, which you can also do if you want to.
If you don’t, feel free to plant some more strawberries there as well. Move the container in a bright and sunny area-strawberries love the sunlight.
Voila!
You now have your own strawberries, but also a pretty addition to your garden. It will definitely add some sparkle to it!
