The actor, musician, and philanthropist Jaden Smith offers free food to the homeless and is now planning to expand the initiative.
In addition to the food trucks, he’ll also launch a restaurant that will also provide free meals to homeless people.
His food truck initiative called ‘I Love You’ has been growing in popularity in Los Angeles and other cities by offering free meals to the hungry and homeless.
Smith launched this wonderful initiative in 2019 on his 21st birthday.
After the launch of the food truck, Smith who’s the son of the iconic actor Will Smith, explained it was his goal to provide vegan and healthy, free food for the people in need in the Skid Row area.
And so he did.
The ‘I Love You’ Initiative Is Expanding, Says Smith
Smith’s next plan with the restaurant is to motivate those who can afford the meals to pay something extra and thus help provide free meals for the less fortunate.
Smith’s philanthropy is a constant thing: he also created the Water Boxes back in 2019 to provide cleaner drinking water for Flint, Michigan residents who were struck by lead contamination in their municipal waters since 2014.
The Karate Kid star’s food trucks have been passing out brown paper bags filled with bowls of kale and carrots to some of the around 8000 people estimated to live in this part of Los Angeles.
For him, the I Love You movement is giving people what they deserve, i.e. a healthy and vegan food for free.
Spreading Love & Helping People Have Cleaner Water & Healthier Food Access
His famous dad supported his son’s food truck idea and shared the news about it on Jaden’s 21st birthday.
He wrote “now that’s the way to celebrate your b-day!! I love you Diggy”.
The website of the company notes that it’s their mission to spread love in communities dealing with food shortage or housing insecurity by providing water and quality and fresh sustainable meals.
