Jersey Mike’s Subs and its customers throughout the country have raised impressive $15 million to donate to more than 200 different charities in the nation.
This happened as part of their annual Month of Giving in March and the charities that received their donations included food banks, hospitals, youth organizations, and more.
Jersey Mike’s Donate Impressive $15 Million to Different Organizations
The locations of Jersey Mike’s accepted donations in the month of March and they built to the 31st of March or the main Day of Giving.
On this day, more than 1900 restaurants donated 100 percent of their sales, not only their profits, to the charities in their communities.
Interestingly, the total sum of the fundraising is twice bigger than the one they had in 2019 when they donated $7.3 million to charities.
This year’s results are very meaningful considering last year’s celebrations on the Day of Giving had to be cancelled because of the pandemic.
Since the Month of Giving was started by this company back in 2011, they’ve managed to donate more than $47 million for charities.
We Are Full of Gratitude, Says the Company Owner
According to Peter Cancro, the founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s, they hoped to do well this year after the disappointing cancelling last year.
The support they got from different places in the country is an inspiration, he added.
Cancro also said they’re full of admiration and gratitude for their customers, franchise owners, and other team members who’ve helped these charities now when they need it more than ever.
Cancro purchased his first sub shop when he was 17 and he says that two businessman, Jack Baker of Baker’s Lobster Shanty and Bob Hoffman from Hoffman’s Ice Cream, are the people who showed him that it’s very important to give back to the community.
Since the beginning, it has been the mission of Jersey Mike’s to give because it can make a difference in someone’s life.
Jersey Mike’s Subs have more than 2500 locations nationwide. They serve their grilled subs on freshly-baked bread. The same recipe is being used now as when it began in 1956.
