Man Fills Up Gas Tanks for Nurses as a ‘Thank You’ for all They’ve Done

This good Samaritan decided to use his $900 savings to do a nice thing for the nurses from Detroit who’re on the front lines in the fight against the coronavirus.

Allen Marshall spent a Wednesday and Thursday at an Exxon station near the Detroit Medical Center holding a sign saying “free gas for nurses”.

Marshall said he loves what they’re doing and he wants them to know that! Michigan is, unfortunately, one of the states that were hit the hardest during the pandemic, found a Johns Hopkins University study.

Amazing Man Uses His Savings to Fill Up Gas Tanks of Hardworking Nurses

Imran Al Samet who works at the gas station said how Marshall had been paying the gas of between 50 and 80 people during those two days. Most of these nurses didn’t come inside the store so Marshall didn’t hear their reactions, but they were really excited.

Marshall said how he’d been saving up to purchase a knife-sharpening tool. But, after dropping his wife off at work at the Blue Cross Blue Shield, he decided to use the money for something else.

One of the nurses said what he did was so nice and so good. When Marshall’s money ran out, he flipped his sign and it then said “THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!” He waved the sign proudly to the passing first responders and other essential workers.

Others also Joined in on Marshall’s Efforts to Help Nurses

A woman named Alana said that she heard about Marshall’s kind deed and decided to help out too. She has a nephew who’s a nurse. She said how it kills her every day to know that he’s going to work because she can’t know if he will get sick or what else could happen.

She emphasizes that they’re the real heroes and that we need to do whatever we can to give them the support they need. She also donated $200 and used them to purchase more gas for nurses. She even pumped some of it for them.

Aren’t these people amazing? -If only more people would understand how essential medical workers really are!
