Hundreds Gather to Give a Terminally Ill Dad an Early Christmas Surprise

When Matthew Sandbrook was told by his doctors that he had only weeks to live, he didn’t think that he’ll live to see another Christmas.

But thanks to his family and friends, the loving dad of three enjoyed an unforgettable night and a surprise street party.

Sandbrook, who’s 36, was told the devastating news from his doctors and shared it on his Facebook. This is when people gathered to make sure the surprise happens.

It was a wonderful night full of love.

Community Makes an Early Christmas Party for Terminally Ill Sandbrook

More than 200 people came to the Christmas party wearing Christmas attire and singing carols. The festivity was completed with a snow machine that ensured Christmas is white.

There was also a DJ who mixed amazing festive tunes for the crowd to enjoy.

Sandbrook who lives in Warndon, Worcestershire suffered from headaches for two years but thought it was because of stress from his work as a factory assistant working night shifts.

Eventually, however; it was discovered that the reason for his constant headaches was a tumor in the brain with the size of a tennis ball or a glioblastoma.

Unfortunately, it started spreading through his spinal cord. According to Sandbrook, his doctors told him that it’s bad news and he was predicted three months of life left.

In his heartbreaking Facebook post, Sandbrook wrote that he’s worried because he probably has less than those months and isn’t sure if he’ll live to see the end of the week. He was advised to get intensive radiotherapy, but only to prolong his time.

He added that if the therapy makes him too weak that he’ll stop and spend the rest of his days with his Bec, the boys, and the rest of the family. After the Christmas party, Matthew said he was on cloud nine.

Sandbrook Urged People to Get their Headaches Checked Out

Despite what Sandbrook is going through, he added that he doesn’t want anyone to feel sad for him when his time comes. He wrote that they should just have a beer and give him a smile.

At the end of his emotional post, he added that he’s been dealt a s**t hand and it’s cruel.

He was amazed by the party and added how you spend years and years thinking that you’re on your own but then something like this happens and you’re blown away. He’s hopeful for a miracle because his biggest fight is coming up.

Sandbrook urges people to go and get tested if they’re suffering from headaches.
