Young Men Push Elderly Woman in Broken Scooter Home in the Pouring Rain

Helping the less fortunate never goes unnoticed.

And, what these four young men did was recognized by everyone. They escorted a retirement home resident back to her residence after her scooter broke down during a rainstorm.

The public relations representative at the Florida Living Independent Community in Seminole County in Florida, Katty Castro, saw the wonderful act from the window and snapped photos of the group while they were pushing the lady’s scooter so she can get home safely.

Young Men Help an Elderly Woman Whose Scooter Broke Down

According to Castro, the neighborhood is usually very quiet and she was surprised by the sudden laughs and commotion. She went out to see what happened and noticed the boys pushing one of her lady residents during the heavy storm.

The boys were so focused on their task despite the rain and they had covered the lady with an umbrella.

Castro thanked the compassionate and kind young boys for their kindness and asked if she can take a group photo. They agreed and she shared this special moment in the Nextdoor community. This hyperlocal social app allows users to share what’s happening in their community.

Castro first thought that the four boys were locals from the high school nearby, but she later learned that they were actually employed in the Rebounderz Adventure Parks.

“We Knew We Had to Help, no Matter How Tired We Were”

They were passing through the area after a workday and noticed the woman just when they were about to turn onto an eight-lane highway. The boys explained that it was clear that the woman was having trouble with her mobile scooter.

Although they were tired and dirty and wanted to get back to their hotel ASAP, they knew that the lady was having a far worse moment. The woman had a plastic bag on her head to protect herself from the rain.

They didn’t want to leave her in the rain, in the middle of the road, trying to get her scooter to work. The scooters are heavy and add the resident’s weight, their groceries, and the collapsing tires. It was a full workout for the boys, explains Castro.

The boys made a three-quarter-mile trek as they pushed the lady safely home. Although they said they never expected any recognition because they were simply helping out a community member, they’re hopeful that their act inspires others to help out their neighbors in times of need!
