American Airlines Tells Olivia Culpo to ‘Put a Blouse On’ before She Boarded on a Flight to Cabo

Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo was informed that she won’t be able to board an American Airlines flight to Cabo if she doesn’t cover up.

Olivia, together with her sister Aurora and her boyfriend Christian, were preparing to board their flight to Cabo, Mexico when Olivia was called to the desk and instructed to put on a blouse.

Her sister shared what happened on her Instagram stories.

Aurora wrote that the desk called her sister and told her she won’t be able to get on the plane without a blouse.

American Airlines Has a Dress Code in a Set of Rules for Customers

The website of the company includes a line about the dress code in a list of rules that customers need to comply with due to safety.

It says that one needs to “dress appropriately; bare feet or offensive clothing aren’t allowed”. And, violent or improper actions may result in prohibition to board, removal from the terminal, or legal prosecution.

The case of Culpo isn’t the first of its kind.

They have previously instructed their passengers to cover up or otherwise, they can’t board. In fact, back in 2019, one doctor accused the airline that they asked her to come off the plane and cover up with a blanket since her summer romper wasn’t adequate attire.

Recently, one Turkish influencer wrote on her Instagram story that she was banned from a flight by American Airlines due to wearing too-short shorts.

In another Instagram story, Aurora was critical towards the company and compared her sister’s outfit with that of another passenger who was wearing a similar athleisure set.

The difference seemed to be that Olivia’s clothes included shorts whereas the set of the other passenger included eggings. Olivia reshared these stories, wondering why her outfit was deemed ‘offensive’ and ‘inappropriate’.
