When he was only 12-week-old, this Labrador Retriever named Brody started his job as a therapy dog in the Bristol Police Department in Rhode Island. When it was his first day at work, the puppy had woken up early to prep for the swearing-in ceremony.
However, he slept through the whole ceremony, probably tired from being up the previous night, expecting his big day.
Puppy Falls Asleep & Sleeps Through the Whole Swearing-In Ceremony
Brody seemed really comfy with his new colleagues and he blissfully napped while they were conducting the ceremony behind him. Officer Keith Medeiros, Brady’s handler, said how they placed Brody on the desk and he became so comfy that he laid down and soon fell asleep.
Medeiros says that Brody was a hard player and a hard sleeper during his puppy period. When wasn’t out and about, he was sleeping and sleeping a lot. According to the policemen, Brody is part of various activities done throughout the schools of the town.
Brody meets people from his community and the students from the Briston-Warren Regional School District. The presence of a comfort dog such as Brody helps improve communication skills, lowers stress and anxiety, and helps both witnesses and investigators.
Brody Brings a Lot of Joy in their Community
Medeiros notes that people are quite stressed, particularly in the world of law enforcement. However, when he walks into the police department with Brody, people smile right away and are immediately transported into a much better place.
Everyone wants to pet and hug Brody and it’s really already such a loved dog. If you want to keep up with Brody’s journey as a K9 comfort dog, give him a follow on his Instagram!
