All of us could use a fairy godmother, right?
For one Addi Rust, she didn’t just get a fairy godmother, but also a Prince Charming, all in one individual!
Back in 2019, when Rust was a senior in high school, she had a dream dress that she wanted to wear to her prom.
However, the dress was very expensive and she couldn’t afford it so she had to find another one to wear on that special night.
This is when she jokingly told her best friend and prom partner Parker Keith Smith, “Parker, why don’t you just make my prom dress?”
Little did she know that he would actually go through with it!
Smith Was Inspired & Did an Amazing Thing for Addi
Smith was inspired by Addi’s comment and this is when he thought that he can actually make her prom dress. He got to work right away and first made a sketch of the gown.
The harder part came, i.e. constructing the dress. This phase lasted several months and Smith had to learn some new skills, most of which he learned by himself and others that his grandma helped him out with.
Smith is a perfectionist who wasn’t satisfied with the outcome until it was all flawless. He actually remade some parts of the dress and added the embellishments the night before prom night.
But, all of the effort they put in resulted in a stunning creation. Rust loved the dress and she was glowing in the light blue gown with a skirt fit, looking like a princess.
The photos that she shared online included a beautiful message:
“Taking a minute to brag on this man because I think this is the coolest thing that I’ve ever been a part of. Parker Made my prom dress. Starting from scratch, he did the whole thing and I’m still speechless. I’m so lucky to have him as my best friend!”
After he worked on his best friend’s prom dress that everyone loved, Smith kept on going and designed more clothes. He loves to work on dresses with regal details.
