Man Develops a Special Bond with the Officer Who Arrested Him for Drunk Driving & Thanked Him for Saving His Life

This man from Minnesota was inspired to change his life after he was arrested for drunk driving back in 2017. He says that the kindness of the police officer who arrested him was the one who inspired him to do better.

Jake Bosacker was 21 at the time of the arrest which happened in September.

He had decided to take some time off from school and go back with his parents so that he can get sober.

But, soon after coming home, he got into trouble.

Minnesota Man Thanks Police Officer for Helping Him Change His Life

He was in town with friends and tried to drive home after a couple of drinks. The State Patrol Trooper, Keenan Jones, was back at the station when he got a call about an erratic driver on the highway.

That night, he had arrested two other drunk drivers. He had to go out once more, even though he was already tired and had to do all of the paperwork.

But, he went to investigate.

When he came to the scene, Jones noticed that Bosacker had blood on his body. He was very upset and emotional about what happened, said Jones.

At the time, Bosacker told him he had ruined every opportunity of pursuing his dream of becoming a police officer. Bosacker didn’t remember everything, but he does remember that Jones’s words were words of comfort.

He said how his life isn’t over and that he may need to work on himself, but that he can begin that journey at once. And so he did.

Four Years Fast Forward, Bosacker Is Hapilly Married, College Graduate & Sober

Four years after that moment, Bosacker is sober, happily married, and a college graduate. He has stayed in touch with Jones, but they have yet to meet in person. Bosacker wants to express his deep gratitude for all the good things Jones did for him.

He says that Jones saved his life that night and probably someone else’s too. When asked if he will pursue a career in law enforcement, Bosacker said that he’ll have to wait and see where the road takes him.

Jones was also deeply moved by the call on Zoom with Bosacker. The fact that he reached out to him to express his gratitude is something that’s never happened before. He’s very appreciative of it.
