Empaths & Digestive Problems: How They Are Connected?

Do you tend to get easily overwhelmed by others since you have the ability to sense their physical and emotional distress?

Empaths don’t have it easy-they tend to struggle with more stress from all those emotions and may also experience gut problems.

Many empaths struggle with digestive issues, lack of energy, and higher stress, especially when they don’t know how to set healthy limits in their lives.

Empaths have the unique capacity to tune into others’ energy and sense their true selves and what they’re struggling and dealing with, which contributes to a higher level of emotional and physical baggage.

Psychologists explain that empaths are people who have a high level of empathy. These are highly sensitive individuals capable of sensing and absorbing others’ emotions, stress, and energy.

Some of them absorb others’ emotions extremely and when this happens, digestive problems may ensue.

Why Do Empaths Struggle with Digestive Issues?

Research indicates that digestive issues may be a problem for empaths due to their hyper-responsive mirror neurons.

This makes them highly sensitive to the electromagnetic waves that our brains and hearts produce. Many empaths, therefore, struggle with belly ache, food intolerance, nausea, etc.

The emotions from others sometimes become too much and the gut feels them. Empaths absorb everything from feat and pain to joy and happiness. If their core, the gut, is not protected, they may struggle with digestive discomfort.

This is because the gut is our second brain and is sensitive to feelings and stress. Empaths who have this problem may struggle with nausea, cramps, acid reflux, gas, IBS, ulcers, etc.

How to Manage Digestive Issues If You’re an Empath?

  • Detox the charas through meditation

Meditation, prayers, and chanting may help make the solar plexus chakras stronger. They keep the energy protected.

When they’re not working optimally, your energy is not safe it’s affected easily by others’ emotions and thoughts.

  • Stay grounded in your energy

Mindfulness about your body and mind is optimal for keeping your energy protected. Focus on those body areas that require attention.

Practice deep breathing and notice how the belly sinks in and how the chest lifts. Focus on the vibration of your voice when you’re chanting or praying.

  • Take pauses from the world

Empaths need to have their alone time to recharge from all the absorbed energy of others.

Breaks are pivotal if you’re an empath so that you can optimize your health and grow when you’re missing out on vision.
