Carter, a five-year-old boy with high-functioning autism and ADHD, unexpectedly had the best birthday day spent in a skate park.
His mom, Kristen Braconi, took him to the park in South Brunswick in New Jersey to celebrate his fifth birthday.
As the boy was riding his scooter, several teens came and started teaching Carter how to use a mini skateboard.
His mom explained that the group of teens showed her son how to balance the board and told him words of encouragement. When he fell, they helped him.
To make things even lovelier, when they learned it was his birthday, they sang him a happy birthday.
Amazing Children Who Went Above & Beyond & Showed Wonderful Kindness
Braconi said that the teens went above and beyond for her son. She filmed the moments and shared them on the community’s Facebook page.
She wrote that she wanted to give the kids and their parents recognition. She wanted the families of the kids to see that their children are kind and respectful, even when they’re not around.
She wanted to show the parents that they did a wonderful thing raising these young, kind people.
According to Braconi, the teens didn’t know that her son was autistic. They helped him out because of their kindness, without knowing what was going on with him.
This was really amazing, according to Braconi. She also said that her boy gained a lot of confidence due to the positive social interaction he experienced that day.
South Brunswick Police Tries to Locate the Superheroes to Reward Them
In one of the videos that the mom shared, the older boy who loaned Carter a skateboard is heard saying that the boy is already better than him.
After leaving the park, Braconi and her son went for ice cream and sandwiches and brought some for the teens at the park.
The videos which went viral prompted the South Brunswick police to share an appeal on Twitter, hoping to locate the teens and reward them for their kindness. Thanks to the viral tweet, the boys were quickly located.
Braconi said that they planned a pizza party very soon, all of them together.
