Learn How to Make Your Own Non-Toxic & All-Natural Deodorant

Unfortunately, most of the commercial deodorants and antiperspirants are full of chemicals and are additionally causing problems with the skin and may even trigger hormonal imbalances.

This being said, a lot of people today are switching from commercial to homemade and natural deodorants. However, this is not always an easy and straightforward process because not every recipe for a natural deodorant you find out there is a suitable option for your type of skin.

Before we go on to show you how to make your own organic deodorant with a couple of simple ingredients, let us learn a bit more about natural deodorants.

How Do Natural Deodorants Work?

Natural deodorants differ from antiperspirants which are made with specific ingredients that block the production of sweat. Of course, though this may be a good choice for people who sweat a lot, the chemicals in these products have been linked with serious health issues, including Alzheimer’s, breast cancer, and gene instability.

On the other hand, natural deodorants work by destroying bad bacteria and neutralizing the odor so that it smells less bad. Moreover, natural powders like baking soda, arrow root, and corn starch which are often used in DIY deodorants are known to absorb surplus moisture from the sweating.

People who are heavy sweaters may benefit more from using highly absorbing powders like cornstarch or kaolin clay while those with a sensitive skin may want to avoid baking soda.
