In the WFFT Rescue Center in Thailand resides Leonardo, the African spurred turtle that was rescued from a ZOO in Bangkok in 2013.
In the sanctuary, a little calf named Simon came this January after being seriously injured in the legs.
The poor calf was with its mother when it got caught in vines so a part of the back legs were lost. The rescue center got him a prosthetic in order to enable it to walk.
They planned on transferring the calf into a field where they also have two other rescue cows.
But, little did the rescue organization know that Leonardo and Simon would become best friends and that they would prefer to hang out together!
Calf & Tortoise Become Besties
To everyone’s surprise, Simon, the calf, formed a strong connection with Leonardo from the moment they laid eyes on each other.
And, today, they’re still inseparable. They follow each other around, share meals, and even rest together.
The sanctuary workers sincerely hope that this unusual, but amazing friendship will continue to grow.
Unlikely friendships in the world of animals aren’t unusual. No one is able to predict which animals will connect and this is definitely a cute combination!
Even though Simon is now growing into a bull, he is still happy and glad to spend most of his time with his best friend Leonardo. And, Leonardo also likes hanging out with his bovine friend too!
To make things even cuter, we’ve prepared some great photos of the two best friends- the growing calf and the wise tortoise.
Check them out below and don’t forget to share them with your friends and family to bring some positivity into the holiday season!
