No One Came To Student’s Graduation—So His Teacher Took Him Out To Dinner And Bought Him A Car

This teen from Alabama had a lonely graduation day; but it soon turned into a chance to connect with his teacher and to see that there are still good people in the world.

The teen’s school, Bessemer City High School, had its annual ceremony for graduates and Dominque Moore, one of the teachers, participated in the organization of the event.

After the festivities ended, Moore was still around cleaning and making sure it’s all okay.

Almost all of the students went on to celebrate further with their family and friends; however, one of them was still here, sitting all alone by himself.

Teacher Approaches Student to Learn More

Moore knew the student and his usual behavior and he was aware that the boy wasn’t himself. So, he asked him where are his people to which he replied that nobody’s there.

At first, Moore didn’t know what to say next and he said that he expects big things from him and that it’s all going to be okay.

Moore believed that eventually, someone was going to come and give the boy a ride home. But, hours passed and no one did.

This is when he offered him a ride.

But, he also took him out to dinner at a restaurant the boy chose himself-he chose the Cheesecake Factory. They enjoyed a hearty meal and celebrated the boy’s graduation.

Soon enough, they were having an awesome time together and the teacher didn’t want to be rude and ask why his family wasn’t with him.

He made sure he showed him appreciation for his accomplishment. They also took a photo together.

Teacher Collects Donations for Boy; Hopes to Buy Him a Car

When they went home, the teacher shared their photo and the story. He noted that he doesn’t usually post such things because of how common they are in his profession, but sometimes, he’s urged to do it.

He also shared his Cash App ID in case someone wanted to help the boy. Soon enough, a lot of generous individuals donated money and he managed to collect $5,000!

He took the teen into a bank and opened him a bank account and placed the money into it.

He’s now hoping to collect enough to purchase the boy a car and save up enough so he can go to college one day.

The teacher is hopeful that this boy’s story will be a reminder of what really matters in life and to realize that we can be of great aid to those struggling.

It’s time we stop taking people for granted and show that there are still good people in the world, despite all the bad stuff happening.
