Thanks to a drone, the Polish photographer David Kaszlikowski caught a wonderful scene on top of a glacier near the K2 Mountain which couldn’t be found otherwise.
The search for a one-of-a-kind Himalayan locale began when he started shooting for the K2 Touching the Sky documentary.
Namely, he wanted a personal project to work on in his free time so he sent his drone on the scenery around the 2nd highest peak in the world.
The Drone Discovers an Amazing, Hidden Glacier Scene
The drone located a spot near Concordia with a section of glacier surrounded by a 65-foot-wide water pool.
The photographer explains that the place was stunning and made a clean graphic frame-he knew no one will be able to photograph it like him and that nobody will see it in the same way next season.
This is because it was disappearing, melting, and changing its form on the daily.
To catch this awesome sight and make it eternal on camera, he and a guide hiked to the spot at night and he took a 30-second exposure shot with a Canon 5D Mark II.
He lightened the area with a LED- the photos are surreal and show an eerily-glowing form that looks like it’s straight from a different planet.
Without doubt, he couldn’t have spotted the location on his own and as a veteran in photography; he’s noticed that tech drones are often helping photographers improve their shots.
However, he believes one thing will never change-the photographer’s vision.
