A team of MIT engineers has successfully developed the smartest indoor herb garden out there.
The GardenByte, as it’s named, took 3 years to be finalized. Indeed, it’s all an indoor herb garden should look like.
It’s a stylish 30-inch long panter box that’s small enough to not look bulgy in your favorite indoor space, yet big enough to provide you with the opportunity to grow a wide range of herbs.
The box for planting comes with a clear glass lighting system which is 31-inches high and the box is 7.75 inches wide.
The project was very successful on Kickstarter and the campaign ended on the 22nd of April, 2020.
They’ve raised sufficient funds to begin the production.
Why Is the GardenByte the Smartest Indoor Garden?
The modern hydroponic growing system doesn’t require soil-you just need to pour the nutrient-rich water into the pods and the system will set the best growing conditions.
The modular design can help you grow up to 39 small plants at once or you can also space out fewer larger ones to get full-sized herbs.
The growth is achieved with the system’s potent LED lights which stimulate the sun during the day and the candlelight LEDs for the evening.
The garden also has integrated special polymer lenses and shrouds that make sure the light shines directly onto the plants.
This tech speeds up the growth of the herbs, 6 times faster than in gardens outdoors and 3 times more than in other indoor gardens.
The team also integrated a computer with Wi-Fi connectivity with more than one dozen of sensors which help control the environment and adjust the setting for the best growth of the herbs.
The garden app helps connect the homeowner with the integrated computer and send out alerts if the herbs need more nutrients or water, as well as temperature settings in case of very hot or very cold air.
You Get so Many Other Things with the GardenByte Garden
This smart garden has so much more to offer- it comes with a lot of easy recipes and suggestions to use your herbs in cooking.
And, new herb seed pods and nutrients can be directly ordered through the application.
The garden also has a vacation feature- it slows down the herbs’ growth in case you’re away on a business trip or on a vacation.
Home deliveries for the garden are expected to be ready for September 2020.
