Trophy Hunter Who Killed Endangered Elephants And Lions Eaten By Crocodiles

Little did Scott Zyl who killed a large number of zebras, leopards, and even lions for trophy that his last day on earth will be when he sets out on one of his hunting trips.

He became the prey instead of the predator and lost his life after a crocodile attacked him.

Sources are reporting that Zyl who ran the SS Pro Safaris that offers specialized trips for trophy hunters on natural preserve lands lost his life on a hunting trip in Zimbabwe.

Zyl would take rich clientele on hunting expeditions and kill elephants, giraffes, and other endangered species at high prices that weren’t listed on his website.

Numerous of his clients posed with the dead bodies of the hunted animals along with the company’s motto ‘Stop Whining, Go Hunting’.

The Day Zyl Became a Prey Instead of a Predator

Zyl was on a hunting trip with a tracker and a pack of dogs near the border of Zimbabwe and South Africa near the Limpopo River when they split searching for crocodiles.

When the dogs returned to the camp without Zyl, a search and rescue mission began. The team followed his footsteps and found his backpack on the banks of the river. They suppose he was killed by crocodiles.

According to the director of a crime-fighting NGO in South Africa, Sakkie Louwrens, Zyl went missing during the 2nd week of April in 2017.

He said that the Heritage Protection Group helped the authorities in the search for his remains.

There was a permission given to shot three Nile crocodiles in the area and one of them was found to contain the remains of Zyl.

One Green Planet reported that the mission involved divers, helicopters, and trackers whereas friends of his gave out posters in villages to fishermen.

A Poetic Justice, Claim Some

Still, furious by his history of trophy hunting, the organization wrote that Zyl shouldn’t have been hunting in the first place and added that animals in the wild are wild. They live and think for survival.

So, we have to ask ourselves if the one-time thrill of hunting is worth risking our lives and taking deliberately the lives of other creatures.

Some conservationists actually rejoiced at the poetic justice that the hunter had as penance to his long history of murdering animals just for pleasure.

Approximately at the period when he was killed, at least 4 other individuals were killed by crocodiles in Zimbabwe.

Remains of an 8-year-old boy were found inside a crocodile when cut-open in 2017.

The scene was caught by an eyewitness in the village. The villagers claimed that the crocodile killed and consumed the young boy so they had to shot him dead.
