Dramatic Video Shows a Woman Duct-Taped to an Airplane Seat after Trying to Open the Door

An apparently unhinged woman was duct-taped to her airplane seat after she allegedly attacked the crew and tried to open the aircraft’s door during a flight.

The video shared on social media showed a gray-haired woman with silver duct tape over her mouth, as well as over her arms and body, and taped to the seat.

Moreover, in the video, the woman can be heard screaming: “You!You!You!” as the passengers exited from the American Airlines Flight 1774 past her and the attendants calmly told the passengers goodbye.

The video was shared on TikTok by user @lol.ariee.

Why Was a Woman on a Flight Duct-Taped to Her Seat?!

The two-hour flight on July 6 from Dallas Fort Worth to Charlotte, Nc, was delayed for at least three hours before it went off at midnight.

But, around an hour into the flight, chaos broke out, according to the TikTok user who described the hectic scenes. The flight attendants began turning on the lights at 1:30 am and they were running up and down the aisles, whispering something between each other.

Then, the crew started locking the bathrooms and grabbed the bags from the bins, but wouldn’t say what was going on. Finally, the pilot spoke on the intercom and asked the passengers to remain in their seats, referencing a “bad situation in the plane right now” according to the user.

She later added how they began hearing more and more screaming. With the plane about to land, one of the flight attendants told them that a woman with a mental health problem had the urge to get out of the plane.

The Woman Had to Be Duct-Taped for the Security & Safety of the Passengers & Crew

She kept saying “I need to get off” and went near the exits and started to bang on the doors, demanding she is let out.

It took some five flight attendants to subdue the woman and take her down. They had to put her down into her seat and duct-taped her.

The incident was confirmed by American Airlines and said how the woman assaulted and bit one of the flight attendants after she tried to open the forward door.

They had to restrain her for the safety and security of the other passengers and the crew.

The emergency personnel met the flight in Charlotte and took the woman to a local hospital. She was also placed on the American’s internal no-fly list.
