Elton John Admits: Michael Jackson Was a Disturbing Person to Be Around

In a 2019 memoir named “Me”, Elton John wrote about the trials, truths, and tribulations that he faced throughout his youth and long-lasting career.

One of the things that stood up the most from this memoir was what he had to say about the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Elton John recently revealed that the pop icon was a disturbing person to be around.

The 75-year-old singer admitted this in his memoir and also spoke about several encounters with the pop legend.

Jackson passed away in 2009 at the age of 50. John described him as mentally ill and a disturbing person to be around.

The Rocketman singer wrote that when he first met Jackson when he was just a teen, he was a different person.

He had known him since Jackson was 14.

He was the loveliest kid back then. But, at some point in his later life, according to John, he began to distance himself from the world and reality, the same as Elvis Presley did.

Elton John Says Michael Jackson Was a Disturbing Person to Be Around with

John believed that Jackson’s change in his personality and behavior was the consequence of his abuse of prescribed drugs. Elton explained that no one knew what was going on in his head and no one knew how many meds or which meds he was taking.

But, whenever he saw him in his later years, he always thought that he had lost it completely.  He says that he was genuinely mentally ill and a disturbing individual to be around.

Did he prefer the Company of Kids?

John didn’t write about the sex abuse allegations specifically; however, he mentioned that the hitmaker preferred the company of kids to adults.

Whichever his reason was, he explains that Jackson wasn’t able to cope with adults at all.
